Is it okay if I dont charge my new phone for hours first before use?
I just got a new phone and Im anxious to start using it but that wont be possible if it has to sit on my charger for the next hours!

A lot of answers, and contradictory ones, too. Does it help if I tell you that Ive been an electrical engineer for years? The reason they tell you to charge it before using it the first time is because the battery very likely has little charge. They dont want you returning it just because you never charged the battery. Or if you only charged it for an hour. So charge it first.brbrBut, if you dont, and it does have some charge that it works, its NOT going to shorten your batterys life. It just wont last as long as a fullycharged battery will before needing to be charged. So youre going to have to charge it sooner or later. But it wont damage anything if you choose later.brbrBottom line is that it will NOT shorten your batterys life and it will NOT damage your battery or your cellphone. The worst that will happen is that it may die out when youre least expecting it, and THEN youll have to recharge it.
